The Brockville Braves of the CJHL have received
the ODHA approval to host the 2010 Fred Page Cup,
bringing together in this city; the CJHL Champions,
the Quebec Junior A Champions and the Maritime Junior
Hockey League Champions.
Hosting the Fred Page Cup will add substance to
both the concept of Sport Tourism and that of a
"Community" event. Not only will the Fred Page Cup
be an economic shot in the arm for Brockville but
it will bring the best Junior "A" hockey in Canada
here for those five days in April 2010. It will
give the entire community of Brockville and area,
from our fledgling "initiation" players right through
to our seniors, the opportunity to experience firsthand
the battle for the right to compete in the Royal
Bank Cup, symbolic of Canadian Junior A hockey supremacy.
Norm Saunders, who successfully presented our bid
to the CJHL Governors a week ago has stated, "This
is a community event and we will once again demonstrate
to all of Eastern Canada, the kind of host city
Brockville and it's citizens are."
