The Brockville Braves have signed defenceman
Sebastian Gingras for the 2009-2010 season in
an attempt to fill the hole left by graduating
CJHL Defenceman of the Year Paul Puglisi. Gingras
most recently played at the Ontario Hockey Academy
in Cornwall and is a graduate of the Lac St. Louis
Lions 'AAA' Midget program. The 18 year old is
6'2" and 190 lbs he will add size and skill to
the Braves blueline next year.
Coach/GM Todd Gill feels "he should be able
to step in and play quality minutes for us...He's
a top end defenceman and he'll be a quality defenceman
in our league."
Welcome to the
Braves Sebastian!!

Three Braves Selected in OHL Draft - May
6, 2009
The
Braves would like to congratulate Maxime
Dumond, Clark Seymour
and Tanner Benton for their selection
at the OHL Entry Draft.
Seymour, who stood out as a
defensive fill-in for the Braves during the playoffs
after a 4 game stint as an AP during the regular
season was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs
with the 2nd pick in Round 3(42nd overall). In
an interview with the Recorder and Times Clark
indicated he would prefer to stay with the Braves
for a season to get stronger and develop further.
Dumond who played the whole
season for the Braves would have likely been picked
a lot higher in the Draft if he hadn't already
made it clear he intends to work towards an NCAA
scholarship after his time with the Braves. He
was picked up in the 12th round 236th overall
by the Ottawa 67's.
Tanner Benton who missed half
of the season with the Upper Canada Cylcones due
to injury, played two regular season games for
the Braves last year and will be at the Braves
Camp this July. Benton was selected in the 13th
round 243rd overal by the Kitchener Rangers.
Congratulations
Clark, Max and Tanner as you are in a select club
of young hockey players whose skill level and
work ethic stood out enough for the OHL to take
notice.
